SportChamps Review

The advent of tournament style fantasy betting has taken off in Australia, and the latest to join the ranks is Australian company SportChamps. They specialise in fantasy betting tournaments across a range of different sports and racing events. So if you fancy a change of pace and want to bet against other punters, and not the bookies, then SportChamps is for you!

The Spring Carnival is always a punters paradise and SportChamps is no different with enhanced prize pools and potentially more announcements in the future!

WHAT IS SPORTCHAMPS?

Unlike some companies that offer tournament style betting in Australia, SportChamps specialises itself in tournament betting without an attached sportsbook or other products. Their focus is purely on the tournaments which great for players as they provide an exceptional user experience in their tournaments. When you first arrive you will be prompted with a login or sign up screen, from here you can either login to your exsisting account or sign up for a SportChamps account.

If you just want to peruse the lobby without signing up yet, you can also do that by clicking the ‘View Lobby’ link in the top right corner. The lobby is very well presented and easy to navigate. Much like a lot of the Daily Fantasy websites in Australia, the different Tournaments can be sorted by a range of different criteria including sport, entry fee, prize pool or start date.

SportChamps have a good range of tournament offerings that has been built upon throughout their first few years in operation. At the moment they offer tournaments in AFL, NBA, Soccer, NRL, Super Rugby and of course, horse racing. Yet you will also find other sports including F1, MLB, Tennis and Golf.

The entry fees for tournaments range anywhere from free up to $200. If you already know your way around tournament style betting and wanted larger action then this might not be the site for you.. yet! But if you are just beginning and are looking for a smooth transition into the new format then SportChamps offers a lot of low stakes tournaments to get involved in.

SportChamps lobby

One of the great aspects about SportChamps is the ability to enter tournaments with friends and sledge them out in the chat. The site allows you to "connect" with other players and really encourages the social aspects of punting against other punters. There’s nothing better than beating a mate and SportChamps makes that possible.

Depositing and withdrawing options are also limited, with credit card and bank transfer the only options it deposit. Withdrawal are limited to bank transfer only. However the payouts are extremely fast and the customer service at SportChamps is bang on so if you ever need a hand you can just click the chat symbol in the bottom right corner of your screen and someone will be with you in minutes.

RACING ON SPORTCHAMPS

SportChamps ‘Bread and Butter’ is however their racing product. From their inception in 2016, SportChamps have listened to their members and are always willing to innovate the overall product. Tournaments have evolved from all day offerings, to quick 30 minute “blood baths” to their recent split offerings. The traditional full race card is now called “Gallops, Trots & Dogs” which you simply buy-in into the tournament and use your 10,000 ‘ChampCash’ to punt your way to the top of the leaderboard. Take note of the tournament conditions such as rebuys and the minimum bet amount required in the tourney. Also take note of the payout structure as this can range from 5% to 40% of the prize pool.

SportChamps new offering is called “Full Card”. SportChamps describe these tournaments as their fun new “Use It or Lose It” style game. The Use It or Lose It format gives you 1,000 ChampCash to bet on each race at a specific venue. In Full Card games you bank your winnings and are unable to roll them into future races. This brings in an excellent strategy game when participants have the same amount of ChampCash to bet with in each race.

SPORTCHAMPS TARGET TOURNAMENTS

SportChamps also provide “Target” challenges which take away the ‘mate against mate’ element by trying to turn your ChampCash past the set targets.

Instead of having to compete against other punters for a share of the prizepool, all you'll have to do to collect in the target tournament is work your kitty up to a specified ChampCash line, where you can 5x, 10x or even 25x your entry fee! SportChamps regularly put on Targets for bank building or specials where target lines are reduced. Always checkout the Lobby for their specials.
