NFL 2018 Todd Gurley DFS

Another Thursday night game in the NFL, another massive prize pool of over $1,000,000 up for grabs at DraftKings! We hit on some nice tips in last our fantasy preview for the game between the Jets and Browns last Thursday and we’ll be looking to replicate that as we get a much more intriguing contest this week.

The 3-0 Los Angeles Rams will host the Minnesota Vikings this week, who uncharacteristically lost by 21 points to the Bills on the weekend. It’s two of the best defences (on paper) in the league squaring off here and we are excited! Catch our fantasy guide for the Thursday night clash below.

NFL Week 4 Vikings at Rams Daily Fantasy Tips

Must Have – Todd Gurley, Kyle Rudolph

I don’t care that Gurley is coming up against the 6th best defence against the rush so far this season. He is an absolute beast and to not have him on Thursday night when other running back options are extremely limited would be a sin. Gurley was dominant once again on the weekend, rushing for 105 yards on 23 carries and finding the end zone once.  He has now rushed for 255 yards in his three games and added over 100 receiving yards for five total TD’s. Best player in fantasy.

Kyle Rudolph is probably the sole option at tight end this week. He has been great the last two weekends, scoring 14.2 and 15.8 and racking up a total of 14 targets across the two games. The Rams haven’t been great at stopping tight end productivity this season, currently ranked 29th in the league in that department and with no other reliable options at the position this Thursday night, Rudolph is a must.

Sleepers – Latavius Murray, Kirk Cousins

Latavius Murray should start at running back for the Vikings as Dalvin Cook remains on the sidelines with a hamstring injury. Murray struggled to get into the game against the Bills on the weekend as the Vikings run game was non-existent, however, he did have a dominant game against the Rams last time they met. Murray rushed for 95 yards on 15 carries and scored two touchdowns in the Vikings win. Could be a valuable second RB here.

Cousins is hardly a sleeper as a starting QB, however, we think more people will opt for Jared Goff this Thursday given how bad the Vikings defence has looked of late. The Rams, albeit 3-0 did allow Phillip Rivers 226 passing yards and two touchdowns on the weekend and although he scored just 13 points on the weekend Cousins had two strong performances in the opening weeks with 20.36 against the 49ers and 37.5 against the Packers.

Stay Away – Vikings Defence, Rams Tight Ends

We made sure to add the (on paper) when we mentioned that the Vikings have one of the best defences in the league in the opening paragraphs. This is because they have been pretty deplorable in 2018 so far. They did hold the 49ers to 16 points in Week 1 but have since allowed the Packers and Bills to score 29 and 27 in the following two weeks. The Rams have looked impossible to stop on offence this season whether it be on the ground or in the air so I’m staying far away from the Vikings defence this Thursday as I think the Rams could easily put up 30 points, as they have done in all three games so far.

Jared Goff averages 313 passing yards per game so far this season but he hasn’t really made it a habit of throwing to tight ends. Gerald Everett and Tyler Higbee are the two tight ends that have played significant time for the Rams this season and neither have recorded a fantasy score over 8 points to date.
