super rugby fantasy round 13

Round 13 of Super Rugby starts in New Zealand as the Blues host the Hurricanes. The 8-1 Hurricanes are flying at the moment with 8 straight wins and they’ll look for their 6th straight win over the Blues this week. However, the Blues are coming off a win and Sonny Bill Williams returns from injury. So their hopes of an upset should be high at Eden Park on Friday.

To provide you some more enjoyment for this Friday, why not enter a couple of teams in the Super Rugby fantasy $10k Qualifier at PlayON? We’ve given you a head start with our Chalk, Chance and Chump article picking out the best and the worst for your team lineups this Friday.

Chalk – Beauden Barrett (Hurricanes)

With his brother Jordie potentially out of this contest, Beauden should get plenty of opportunities to score points in this one. He has scores of over 1000 points in 2 of his last 3 matches. Last week, his score of 1010 didn’t include a try so his potential to score big is high. He kicks conversion goals and should take penalty goals as well. Also, he plays for the 80 mintues and doesn’t make many errors. So I think he’s a lock at the Fly Half position.

Chance – Caleb Clarke (Blues)

The Blues Caleb Clarke costs just $5.8 million and I think he’ll be a very popular option in the second Back 3 position. The 19 year old made his first Super Rugby appearance last week and finished with a respectable score of 540. He played the 80 minutes which is a pleasing sign and the return of Sonny Bill should help him score around the same points again. He can make defenders miss and looks to be a solid player for the Blues in the future.

Chump – Ngani Laumape (Hurricanes)

For his price, Ngani Laumape is very risky in the Back 3 position. He’s coming off a score of just 475 points and is only averaging 634 points in 2018. His highest score in the last 6 matches is 850. But that included 2 tries and it’s fairly doubtful that will happen on Friday. So it basically means he has to score tries to score over his averge - risky. With a lot better options in the Back 3, steer clear of the high priced Ngani Laumape.
