Unfortunately hit on just one of four fantasy bets from CrownBet last weekend with two really close and unlucky losses. It’s a massive week coming up in the AFL with four teams playing for a spot in this year’s Grand Final. We provide our best fantasy bets for the two prelims below.
Fantasy markets can be found at all the major sports betting agencies including CrownBet, Sportsbet and Ladbrokes and from Pointsbet, so head to our Australian sports betting site reviews to find some great sign-up bonuses and more information.
AFL PRELIM FINALS FANTASY BETTING TIPS
It’s a battle of the brothers for our first matchup in the Crows vs Cats game as Matt and Brad Crouch go head to head. Matt is the favourite and rightly so after having a really dominant year in fantasy scoring. However, Brad absolutely dominated the qualifying final against the Giants, racking up 124 points in the win and outscoring Matt. The slightly bigger body of Brad could help against the hardnosed Geelong midfield so we like the value in the underdog here.
The cream rises to the top in finals matches and Patty Dangerfield is definitely the cream of the competition. Scored 140 last weekend playing mostly as a forward so if he spends any time in the midfield this week should easily clear his points line that has been brought in slightly because of the potential to be up forward. Hasn’t scored under 114 in his last 5 matches and should continue to dominate.
Whitfield benefited from being arguably the forgotten man in the GWS midfield last weekend. He was able to run around by himself for the majority of the game, picking up 25 disposals and 11 uncontested marks to lead all fantasy scorers with 128 points. Dylan Shiel while probably the better player, copped a tough matchup and finished with just 98 points. We think Whitfield has the potential to score easier than Shiel and like him to again this week as an underdog.
We are going with the big boys here again and taking Dustin Martin to clear his fantasy points line against the Giants. Set at a modest 110.5, Dusty has cleared that mark in 7 of his last 10 matches and has scores of 116 and 122 against the Giants already this season.
Spread Bet of the Week
PointsBet are offering a great promo for Friday night's game between Adelaide and Geelong. Place a bet on the game line and if you lose but both Rory Sloane and Patrick Dangerfield kick a goal, you'll get your money back up to $500! Not in bonus bets or rewards points, real cash straight back into your account. Dangerfield is almost a lock to kick at least one goal while Sloane has kicked 18 goals from 22 games this seaosn so far.
We love the promo and we think there's a solid chance for us to get our money back at least so we'll take the Cats line tonight, which sits at a fairly high 16 points.
