Winx

The 2018 Turnbull Stakes is the highlight of a quality Spring racing card this Saturday at the home of Victoria racing at Flemington. The sun will be shining in Melbourne and the superstar mare Winx will be running around, so it should be a great day for racing punters around the country.

With the racing warming up, it’s no surprise to see some great racing tournaments popping up at the DFS and fantasy betting sites around Australia. TopBetta and Moneyball have their usual Saturday racing offerings, while SportChamps have upped the ante, with a massive $25,000 guaranteed prize pool for just a $50 entry.

Here’s a few horse racing bets that you might like to take on board with your fantasy betting strategies this Saturday.

The early races look tough to call, so it may pay to take your time to find a good spot to get involved. A good entry point might be Flemington Race 4 at 2:20pm with the favourite Savoie who was dominant in winning over this distance last start. This looks no tougher and with a good draw, Savoie looks a nice early play at $3.10 at Neds.

The obvious banker bet of the day is Winx in the Turnbull Stakes at 3:00pm. You’re getting a price of $1.16 at BetEasy, but as we’ve mentioned before, SportChamps always give overs in their fixed price markets for tournaments. Winx is currently $1.36 fixed on SportChamps which is a tremendous way to increase your bank at virtually no risk.

Over at Randwick in Sydney where the Group 1 Champion Stakes will be the highlight of the afternoon. The race is at 4:00pm and it looks a good one for top weight Thinkin’ Big. Leading all the way in the Group 3 Gloaming, Thinkin’ Big saluted by a comfortable margin and with the run under his belt, he should take some catching once again here. You can back him at $3.70 at Pointsbet.

Race 9 at Flemington will be the most important race of the day for tournament players as it will be the last race of the contest at 5:40pm. Find a winner here and you’re looking at a big pay day! Invincibella is a horse that always runs well, and should be suited by the strong speed up front here. Last start was an average ride by Bowman, but if she can get out and find room, expect her to be in the finish at $5.00 at Sportsbet.  The other horse who should be suited is Savatiano who comes up favourite in this race at $3.80 at BetEasy.  With ten placings from 13 starts, taking Savatiano to place might be a strong, but safe play, if you have the chips to work with late in the tournament.

Good luck on Saturday and let’s hope that one of our DFR players collects the lion’s share of the big $25,000 prize pool at SportChamps!
