Golf Daily Fantasy Tips: 2019 WGC HSBC Champions
The third stop of the current Asian swing is the World Golf Championship (WGC) HSBC Champions at the Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai, China. The 72 par, 7,266 yard layout is a gently undulating course with Water in play on 11 holes and strategic bunkering and rough throughout. Greens are raised with vicious run-offs, so we need to target golfers who hit a lot of greens or are good at scrambling. This course does test most skills of the golfer but longer hitters tend to do better here in the past.
For the 3rd week in a row, we have a 78 golfer field in a NO cut event. Defending champion Xander Schauffle is back to defend his title, along with Rory McIlroy, with fellow Europeans in Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood and Paul Casey. You will find this week that more Europeans are in the field this week along with some Chinese tour players from the European Challenge tour. Note Kevin Na has withdrawn for the event.
With no-cut events like last week all golfers will play 4 rounds unless a golfer withdraws during the event. Essentially you want to build lineups with the winner in your team.
This week I'm going to list golfers who I think that are on the radar and golfers who I can ignore. Let’s called these lists the 'Lights Out' and the 'Shanks'. The ‘Lights Out’ are players in form, statistically fit the course or become value at their fantasy salary. For the ‘Shanks’ is the opposite, out of form, their game doesn’t fit the course set up or are too expensive for their salary.
This week I do like a lot more to go “Lights Out” this week over the “Shanks’. The Europeans have come over with good form along with a couple of Chinese players as well.
